Wash Floods
The wash is the cathedral’s interior floodlighting: 12 V WS2811 pixel floods (10 W, 1 addressable pixel per fixture, IP65) — the same fixture as the spirelets, run off each tower’s dedicated 12 V flood PSU (HLG-185H-12). Data comes from an SR socket; V+ comes from the fused 12 V flood rail, never through the SR board.
22 fixtures total: 7 per front tower, 4 per back tower (positions from the mount plan, reference/washes.obj — #99, 2026-07-27).

⚠️ Chain order
Every fixture is identical, so the feed point is the only thing that sets the pixel order — get it wrong and the show’s directional effects land on the wrong faces. Each tower’s floods are chained into ONE string.
Front towers (#99)
The rule: the chain starts at the INNER-FRONT corner — the mount closest to the ROSE WINDOW — then wraps around the OUTSIDE of the tower. The front-left tower runs CLOCKWISE, the front-right tower COUNTER-CLOCKWISE (mirror images).
The inner-front corner carries TWO floods on one stacked bracket — one aimed UP, one aimed DOWN. The UP flood is pixel 1, the DOWN flood pixel 2. Every other flood aims down.

→ 6 = back face outer → 7 = back face inner
(outer face = LEFT face on the front-left tower, RIGHT face on the front-right tower.)

Back towers (#102)
Each back tower’s 4 floods mount halfway between the legs (mid-face) on the four faces of the TOP quad arch.
The rule: data feeds the FRONT-face flood first, then runs CLOCKWISE around the tower — matching the quad-arch chain convention (F→L→B→R).

All junction labels are generated from the wiring DB so the order can’t silently flip — printed on the wash label sheets.
Wiring notes
- Reversed connector gender: like the spirelets, these fixtures take data in on the FEMALE end — so the SR-side pigtail is MALE (backwards from every other zone). See the bench notes in the project’s
flood_wash.md. - Color order: RGB (bench-confirmed — unlike the major-arch strips, no swap).
- Power: one fused tap per chain from the 12 V flood rail — 5 A for a 4-flood back chain (≈ 3.3 A full white), 7.5 A for a 7-flood front chain (≈ 5.8 A full white) — carried on the pigtail V+ with the spirelet-style V+ treatment.
- Full box wiring: the build sheets for SR 5-8 (E), SR 9-12 (E), SR 13-16 (A) and SR 17-20 (A).
